Fandom Disconnect

I've been feeling pretty cut off from fandom recently. For the last few years I've always had people to chat with steadily but all my chat partners are gone now, either sucked into real life or sucked into different fandoms.

It's sad.

One way to deal with that is to talk more about meta issues and cross-fandom stuff than just about a particular fandom. Then you can still chat with people who left your fandom for something new and shiny.

Yeah, but it's more that they got sucked into RL (or, in one highly specific case, broke up with me.) There's one person left who's just in a different fandom, but I feel awkward talking to her because she's banned all discussion of my fandom. Which is ... well, awkward.
