This icon used to be just a fun I-love-my-show icon. Now I feel sad whenever I use it, because they're all dead except for Jack. Jack who had to survive them, just like he'll have to survive everyone. It's awful.

I have to remind myself now that Torchwood used to be my fun, cracktastic show. Now it's my heartbreak, clench-my-teeth-in-fearful-anticipation-whenever-there's-new-content show. :(

I have to admit, I'm angry at the Powers That Be for not having the Doctor fix Jack. I mean, undying for eternity? Nothing Jack's ever done could make him deserve that hell.

I guess they wanted to keep him a superhero. But I bet they also wanted to keep the opportunity for Etreme!!!!Angst. I'd like to think he can eventually find some kind of zen peace with his situation - he's got forever - but I don't see it happening while he works for/is Torchwood.

My personal fanon is that either the Doctor or Jack will eventually figure it out. Because I don't think the alternative is eventual zen peace, I think it's eventual madness.

But...This is why I *love* Jack.

Oops. Sorry, didn't mean to spoil you. But since I have ... they didn't kill everyone off. That icon is of Jack, Suzie, Owen, and Toshiko. Suzie died in series one, episodes one and eight. Owen died in series two, episodes six and thirteen. Toshiko died in series two, episode thirteen. Going into series three, Torchwood Cardiff is Jack, Ianto, and Gwen.

And you know it's science fiction because two thirds of the fallen members had to die twice before it took.

Yeah, her death was just heart breaking. Apparently none of the actors could rehearse it.

As for Owen, you might find yourself liking him more if you see the entire arc. He's still a bastard, but by the end he's OUR bastard, you know?
