Okay, there's a large extent to which I don't think that Manchild can work as an American series. But regardless, I just can't see Kevin Smith in Anthony Stewart Head's role.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kevin as much as the next woman (unless the next woman is natlyn), but ... no. Just no.

While I agree that Manchild would not be easily translatable to a US version, it doesn't actually say that Kevin would be in the role of James for the show. It references ASH so that we know what show they're talking about. Kevin could do a credible Gary -- the sweet, pudgy, married, and most blue collar of the bunch.

The character description doesn't sound like any of the original Manchild characters so it looks like this will be one of those situations where the only thing that is like the original is the premise of the 4 friends with relationship issues.
