I need a house hunt icon.

Okay, house hunting has been very frustrating. The market has gone down in DC, but still not enough for me to get my ideal place. I really need to decide what I'm willing to compromise on: size, condition, location, or price.

Is anyone familiar with Greenbelt and willing to share their experiences?

Can I just point out that condition is the only one you can really actively change yourself after the fact? You can't make it bigger very easily, you can't pick it up and move it (unless you are in the Simpsons,) and the prices are already falling.

If you find a place in a location you like that is and acceptable size and price, but needs a little work, that has to be better than needs no work, but is miles from where you want it to be.

I would totally agree with that if I wasn't looking at condos. If the building has a long-term cockroach problem (which is true of one of the good-location-poor-condition places), I can't do much to affect that.
