If you're interested in John Barrowman being either shirtless or a big kid playing around on the TARDIS set, you should watch this week's Tonight's the Night.

Side Trip

I have confirmed that I can get enough hotel points to do a three night side trip.

I'm very tempted by Paris, but I don't speak French and I'm worried about getting around the city. I'd hate to be that awful American who goes to a country without knowing the language and needs everyone to speak English for them. I'm also worried about the anti-semitism in France, both from a safety perspective and a "graffiti swastikas do not make for a relaxing vacation" perspective. If anyone has experiences that they would be willing to share, I'd be very grateful.

Of course, there are lots of other options within the UK, but I'm not knowledgeable about them. Again, experiences and opinions are welcome. Please?

I looked at my calendar this morning and realized that I leave for London in nine days! I have done nothing to prepare for this trip short of buying plane tickets, making some hotel reservations, and buying a ticket to JB's concert. You know, the necessities. *facepalm*

Here's what I need to figure out: What should I do while in London? Anyone want to get together for coffee or sightseeing? Should I do a side trip somewhere in the UK? Or even to Paris?

I just watched the last five episodes of BSG. Wow.

BBC America is promo-ing Children of Earth for July. If they're really airing it within a week of the UK airdate, it seems like the rumored June 15th UK airdate may not be right.

The other day I pulled dozens of t-shirts that I'd gotten for free from various jobs and events out of my dresser and took them to the clothes donation box. Does this make me a grown up?

Also? Watching real estate porn HGTV is not making me feel any less frustrated about my home search.

My neighbors are obnoxious, holier than thou, jack asses.

I so need to move.

Oh God.

Just watched my download of Tonight's the Night and there was a guest appearance from JB's dog, Captain Jack the Jack Russell Terrier. Who apparently has his very own doggie greatcoat.

*facepalm*

If you are going to buy Tupperware, buy it from a drag queen.

Dixie is wonderful, and I really admire her for being totally unapologetic about who she is in a tour throughout the deep south and at national tupperware conventions. The audience last night was made up of mostly older Southern white women. Not the friendliest audience ever, but she had most of them eating out of her hand by the end of the night. It was really amazing.

Though I wonder if it's what Whoopi described on the Paul O'Grady show when discussing John McCain: "Listen, here's the crazy thing. Even the staunchest Republicans? Love a great performer. They love a great performer and they will look past anything if you're good. If you're bad? They will write you up, go and get your family ... I mean it's terrible." (Here at 2:30.)

So maybe it won't change the minds of these Southern matriarchs. But it can only help and it takes a lot of guts. So buy some Tupperware, if you want it.

I am exhausted. I've spent the last two days teaching training classes. Given setup needs, I've been working from 5:00am to 7:00pm. There was no stool in the classroom, so I had to stand the entire time.

I spent half an hour soaking my feet and they are still throbbing badly.

I am so tired that I couldn't face walking to the Wendy's next to the hotel to get dinner. I went through the drive-through. I think the kids call that, "Fail."

I think all birthdays should include cupcakes and Awesome Drag Queens. Granted, I am traveling and in Birmingham, AL, but still! Cupcakes! Drag! Tupperware!

I have had a headache off and on for the last week. The muscles in my neck are spasming, I'm nauseous, and my head is killing me. If this isn't better in a week I'm going to the doctor. Probably.

Edited for incorrect capitalization. As much as I'd like to see the Doctor, I think I'll have the settle for the doctor.

Phew!
